Later you’ll retreat to your comfortable hotel for a peaceful night’s rest, ready to explore more of Kerala’s beauty in the days to come.

Welcome to Kochi - A cultural Embrace

On the morning of Day 2, If you had a late arrival in Cochin on Day 1 then after an early breakfast you’ll check out from your hotel in Cochin. You can explore the Cochin area and visit the Dutch Palace, admiring the ancient murals and artefacts, or wandering through the atmospheric Jewish Street, where each corner tells a story of a bygone era. You can also visit the historic St.

Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, and take in the sight of the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets. You then begin your scenic drive to Munnar, a breathtaking hill station perched 1800 metres above sea level. This journey not only takes you to the cool, misty heights of Munnar but also offers a visual feast along the way. En route, you’ll stop at the stunning Valara and Cheeyappara waterfalls, seasonal cascades that create a picturesque backdrop against the lush greenery and rolling tea plantations. As you ascend to Munnar, you’ll feel the crisp mountain air welcoming you to this serene destination.

Upon arriving in Munnar, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can unwind and relax after the journey. Wildlife Wonders of Thekkady - Into the Heart of the Forest

On Day 4, after a refreshing breakfast, you’ll check out from your hotel in Munnar and embark on a scenic drive to Thekkady, home to one of the world’s most captivating wildlife reserves. As you descend from the misty heights of Munnar, you’ll be greeted by the lush, dense forests that make Thekkady a true haven for nature lovers.

Upon arrival, you’ll check in to your hotel, where you can relax before exploring this fascinating region. If time permits, you can start your local sightseeing right away; otherwise, you have the day to unwind or engage in activities of your choice. The highlight of Thekkady is undoubtedly the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, a sprawling reserve covering 777 square kilometers, with 360 square kilometers of thick evergreen forest. Known for its rich biodiversity, scenic beauty, and significant role in conservation, Periyar was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978 and remains a crucial habitat for various species.

You can spend the day immersing yourselves in the serene beauty of the surroundings. A leisurely sunset stroll along the tranquil backwaters offers a perfect opportunity to unwind and soak in the picturesque scenery. For those interested in local culture, exploring the nearby villages can be a delightful experience, providing glimpses into traditional Kerala lifestyles and an opportunity to interact with the friendly locals.
